Most of the action figures for the GI Joe movie Rise of Cobra have been hit or miss with fans. Some are more popular than others. This special edition Baroness, for example, is quite liked. Some of the 12 inch Cobra figures are kinda cool as well. These are definitely for older children.

For parents who want something a little less violent or realistic, there’s a GI Joe Rise of Cobra Backpack that some kids might enjoy. There’s a side mesh pocket for water bottle and side pouch pocket for other necessities. This is a good sized backpack for school, as well.

It’s not quite Halloween 2010 yet, but if your child likes to dress-up and pretend, there’s a GI Joe costume that’s pretty realistic and inexpensive. It will let your child really get into the movie if they’re old enough to enjoy it.

The Iron Man 2 Movie Series: Iron Man Mark III is a version of the Iron Man toys based off of the one of the new Iron Man suits from the newest movie.  When a new movie comes out, kids always want to play as the new hero or new villain, so getting toys for these characters is a huge hit for any Iron Man 2 fan.

The Iron Man 2 Battle Racecar –  Mark IV is another hot item.  The race car is modeled after Tony Stark’s racer from the movie.  Inside of the race car, you can fit your own Iron Man figure and the vehicle itself also comes with its own Iron Man if your kid doesn’t have their own.  If your child has a love of race cars and the Iron Man movies, then it makes a great gift.

The Mega Bloks Iron Man 2 Techbot War Machine is a great new toy for one of the newest characters from Iron Man 2.  It’s posable, and all the parts are interchangeable with other other Iron Man 2 techbots, so kids can make their own custom armor by combining them together with their other favorite Iron Man 2 toys.

You play as Shrek, as he goes through different puzzles and challenges, based on the newest Shrek movie set to come out this summer.

The coming of the movie also means the reimagining of games for the movie.  Operation Board Game: Shrek 4 is a fun board game for kids.  If you remember the class game Operation, than this is very similar.

You have to carefully pick out the different things ailing Shrek, from burning heart to Humorous Fungus, in order to win the game.  It’s fun for all kids, but be sure to keep an eye on younger kids as there are some smaller parts.

There are also a few dolls, based on characters from the movie.  Shrek Babies Felecia with Stroller and Fergus with High Chair, are classic doll toys for your child to pretend to be Shrek or Fiona, and role play as their favorite characters from the new movie, Shrek: The Final Chapter.

Transformers are always a huge hit. The Transformers RPMS Multipack is great for allowing your toddler to roleplay as all his favorite transformers. The multipack is a great choice for younger children because it does not have the dangerous smaller parts, so it’s great a toy for children 3 and up to be creative and have fun with.

The very first Star Wars toy loved by Star Wars fanatics is none other than the Darth Vader with the Telescoping Lightsaber, which was released in the market in 1978. Unfortunately, only well-off fans could have this Star Wars toy because of its market value of around $6,000. That is, if you can find one even.

The second on our list is the Vinyl Cape Jawa which was also released in the market in 1978. This Star Wars figure comes with a cape that Obi-Wan and the villain Darth Vader have and costs around $2,000.

Finally, the third top Star Wars toy of all time is none other than the Rocket Firing Boba Fett which was released in the market in 1980. Almost all Star Wars fans back in the day had one in their toy cabinet. (Although maybe not one of the J-slot Rocket Firing Boba Fett Prototypes…)

This Star Wars toy comes with a missile fired from the back. It is sold in the market for around $1,000 to $2,000. Because of the safety issue of the missile, the toy was re-released with the projectile missile permanently glued to its backpack.

Okay, if there’s one good thing about the two consecutively disappointing prequels of Star Wars, it’s none other than uber-cool Star War toys that never failed to fancy the attention of those who have seen the film. Seeing the film, you might think that the Star War toys are mainly for boys but you are definitely wrong because even young girls can go gaga over the Star Wars toys. To give you an idea, here are the top Star Wars toys for girls.

Padme-Amidala-figure

The first on the list is the Star Wars Power of the Jedi Royal Decoy Queen Amidala Action Figure. Star Wars isn’t Star Wars without Queen Amidala and girl Star Wars fans are not true blooded fans without getting themselves a figure of Queen Amidala.

Transformers are robotic beings from the planet Cybertron. Optimus Prime is the top robot (and action figure). He is the leader of the Autobots (the good guys for those that have not seen any of the programs or movies). What little boy doesn’t want to play that he is the hero or the leader of a group of heroes?

Megatron is the second top seller at this time (how can we have a hero if he has no one to defeat). He is the leader of the Decepticons which are trying to conquer the universe. The Autobots work with humans to help them save the Earth.

Devastator is the third most wanted and is aptly named for his brute strength and ability to destroy all that gets in his way. He is also an Autobot.

They are named Transformers because the robots turn into various vehicles according to their size. Some are cars, some are tanks and some are not even vehicles. These Transformers are just tiny little things such as a microwave (though you are not likely to find any action figures of those.) There are also Transformers that are made of many vehicles that work together as one.

Overall, these are great toys that challenge the imagination of anyone who picks one up, no matter their age.

Millennium Falcon – The ultimate toy, the Millennium Falcon lasted through all three movies and is tops on the list of all-things Star Wars to have.

The AT-AT all-terrain armored transport was so popular that children wished they could join the Empire and attack the rebels in it.

The Ewok Village was a sought after toy with many moving parts, including an elevator, a rock swing, a ‘throne’ for C-3PO, a net to capture people, and a fire to hang Han over. (Many years later, this toy was reintroduced for the Kevin Costner film Robinhood: Prince of Thieves)

The X-wing fighter was and still is, a must have for every child building up their Star Wars collection. Most impressive is if you can get it with the orange-uniformed and helmeted Luke. Kids have, and will spend many hours racing this through the Death Star and blowing it up.
