Every since there have been children, there have been some form of toys. As long as there have been toys, there has been a need to store them.  Storage comes in all different shapes and sizes.  Most recently there have been storage boxes shaped like animals, vehicles and sports balls as well as the better known toy chests.

The choice of storage has been whatever will fit into the theme of the room the toys are stored in. The top toy organizer of 2009 appears to be shelves and bins.  These can be stackable bins, or the kind that are like a small set of drawers with bins and cubby holes.  They can be stationary or roll around on casters, which can be a big help when time to clean up.

The bins are great for organizing doll clothes, cars, crayons, and especially all those toys sets that come with a multitude of pieces that always seem to get lost in the bottom of a toy box.  You can decorate the bins to match the room décor, or leave them plain.

Using the bins and cubby hole organizers will enable you and your child to easily find the toys and other items store there.   A great idea is to tape pictures to the front of the bins to help your younger children identify what goes in each bin.  Knowing children though, you need to understand that sometimes, the items in the bins will end up on the floor, and the toy organizers will become the creative toy of the day.
